US-Iran Tensions Persist as Trump Rejects Rushed Peace
US President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that America does not want to hurry with the termination of the war with Iran, as it will continue to be ready to use its military forces and economic sanctions against Iran. As a counteraction, Iran has claimed that it managed to restore its war-torn infrastructure and military assets, but the Strait of Hormuz remains closed until Washington makes good on its promises. At the same time, Gulf experts believe that the war will probably take a long time because Trump will keep using the strategies of maximum pressure and patience. Moreover, international tension arose when the EU condemned the Israeli raid on the UN building in Jerusalem and killed seven Palestinians in Gaza under an active ceasefire.
